Before & After Service Care
Brows
Pre-Service Brow Care
Do not try to pre-shape your brows. The more there is to work with, the better!
No tweezing, trimming shaving, or using a derma plane razor in general for at least 3 weeks prior to your appointment. This can affect the hair growth cycle or could leave hairs behind
Please avoid use of all vitamin A derivatives, including retinol and retina for at least 2 weeks before any hair removal.
Since we will be shaping the brows and working with surrounding skin, be sure to stop all over the counter active ingredients 5 to 7 days prior to your appointment.
Please do not schedule a waxing service service and facial within one week of each other. Try to do the facial first, if possible! This is to maintain your color as much as possible, and to not over-exfoliate the skin!
It is recommended to shower the morning of your appointment because you will want to avoid steam (yes, including hot showers) for 24-48 hours post-service to allow for best results and retention.
Your brows will be properly cleansed and prepped before we start the service, so don’t stress it too much if you’re coming from somewhere!
Feel free to bring pictures of your favorite brow styles! We will definitely have a thorough consultation so we can get an idea of what you are looking for!
Avoid excessive sun exposure for 1 week before your appointment
Avoid scheduling Botox and/or filler appointments 2 weeks before & 2 weeks after your appointment.
Keep in mind, each service is completely customizable and unique, so we can tailor your service to fit your specific style, schedule, and preferences, no matter the occasion!
Post-Service Brow Care
The treated area will be cleansed as the final step in your service, so you will be ready to go!
Avoid rubbing, scrubbing, or applying makeup for 24 hours.
Any natural redness that occurs in the process of brow waxing or lamination should fade within a couple of hours.
If you are receiving a color enhancement or lamination service:
Keep eyebrows dry, avoiding heavy sweat, pools, steam (including hot showers) and saunas for the first 48 hours.
Use gentle, oil-free products to prolong results
Limit sun exposure for 48 hours post service to protect freshly exfoliated skin and prevent color fading
Brush brows daily upward + outward into your desired shape
Hydrate! Lamination is a chemical process that can dry your hairs out. We can provide you with a take-home post-service formulated aftercare serum perfect for brows to maintain integrity, moisture, strength, and shine which will in the long run preserve your service the longest! This can also be used as a daily styling gel or even clear mascara!
Waxing
Pre-Waxing Service Care
Ensure hair is 1/4 inch long (a grain of rice) or roughly 3-6 weeks of growth depending on how fast your hair grows so that the wax can properly grip onto the hair. Trim if needed to prevent painful waxing.
Gently exfoliate 48 but no less than 24 hours prior to your appointment to remove access of dead skin cells (I recommend using an authentic African Net Sponge… you can find my favorite one linked in my Amazon Storefront!)
Shower prior to your appointment to wash away any city, sweat, or oil that is on the skin
Do not apply thick lotions, deodorant, or heavy makeup to the area to be treated the day of your appointment
Take over the counter pain reliever such as clear ibuprofen 30-45 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. If you do if you do not have any, you may arrive early and some may be provided for you.
Post-Waxing Service Care
Wear loose, breathable cotton clothes to avoid irritation and friction
Avoid heat, excessive sweat, steam including hot showers and saunas, pools and heavy workouts 24 to 48 hours post service
Keep off of the active ingredients and exfoliants for 72 hours! After then, it is safe to resume them as normal, but be sure to avoid them properly according to your next appointment! I find setting reminders is helpful
Exfoliate no sooner than 48 hours post service, and maintain regular exfoliation 2-3 times a week to prevent ingrown hairs
Moisturize daily with a noncomedogenic option such as jojoba oil (again, check my amazon storefront!)
Aloe is your best friend. The plant, not the container with food coloring in it! Apply a thin gel to soothe any intense irritation following your appointment
Do not do the dirty for 24-48 hours to protect against friction, bacteria and discomfort
Avoid scheduling Botox and/or filler appointments 2 weeks before & 2 weeks after your appointment.
Lash Lift
Pre-Lash Lift Care
Try to shower the morning of your appointment because you will want to avoid steam including hot showers for 24-48 hours post-service to allow for best results.
Your lashes will be properly cleansed and prepped before we start the service, so don’t stress it too much if you’re coming from somewhere!
Avoid excessive sun exposure before your appointment
Avoid scheduling Botox and/or filler appointments 2 weeks before & 2 weeks after your appointment.
Keep in mind, each service is completely customizable and unique, so we can tailor your service to fit your specific style, schedule, and preferences, no matter the occasion!
Post-Lash Lift Care
Avoid sleeping directly on lashes as they will be more fragile the first 48 hours
Keep lashes as dry as possible, avoiding heavy sweat, pools, steam (including hot showers) and saunas for the first 48 hours.
Brush lashes daily to smooth hairs
Use gentle, oil-free products to prolong results
Limit sun exposure for 48 hours post service to protect hair integrity and premature color fading
Hydrate! Lamination is a chemical process that can dry your hair out. We can provide you with a take-home post-service formulated aftercare serum perfect for your lash lift to maintain integrity, moisture, strength, and shine which will in the long run preserve your service the longest! This can also be used as a daily lash care and even double as a clear mascara or brow gel!
